I do not claim that art changes clinical results, and I would be wary of anyone who does. Warmth and calm come first, color that softens the room without becoming decoration or making the practice look like a spa. I would keep ambiguous or unsettling images, and anything that needs explaining, out of the rooms patients sit in.
