מה האמנות צריכה לומר?

- קבלה. היצירה שמבקרים זוכרים. יצירה חזקה אחת עושה בדרך כלל יותר מכמה קטנות.
- חדרי ישיבות. המקום שבו לקוחות מבלים הכי הרבה זמן. יצירות שמחזיקות את תשומת הלב בלי להסיח אותה מהשיחה.
- מסדרונות ואזורים פתוחים. מקצב ולא סדרה של מסגרות שאין ביניהן קשר.
- משרדים פרטיים. לעיתים קרובות נבחרים יחד עם מי שעובד בהם.
לקנות, להזמין או לשכור?

Clients and staff read your walls before anyone speaks. In a new office, the art is one of the few things that says something about judgment and culture rather than about budget. It is also one of the last things companies think about, which is why it so often ends up as whatever fills the space the week before the move. Here is how to do it properly.
Moving offices: when should the art be planned?
With the fit-out, not after it. When the architect and designer are still drawing, the art can be planned into the space: which walls stay solid, where the picture lights and the power go, what the reception wall must carry, and where heavy works need blocking in the wall. I can work from the architect's and designer's plans, before the space is built. If the office is already finished, I work with what is there. What should the art say?
Start with one question: what should a client understand about you in the first moments after the elevator doors open? Calm and established, precise, creative, international. The art at reception answers it first; the meeting rooms, corridors and private offices follow. The leadership decides how the company should feel and what positioning it projects to clients, and my job is to make the space look strong and confident in that direction. Where does the art go first?
- Reception. The work visitors remember. One strong piece usually does more than several small ones.
- Meeting rooms. Where clients spend the most time. Work that holds attention without distracting from the conversation.
- Corridors and open areas. A rhythm rather than a series of unrelated frames.
- Private offices. Often chosen with the person who works there.
Buy, commission or lease?
Companies get office art in three ways. Buying makes the art part of the company and, bought well, it is also an investment, though no one can promise a work will rise in value. Commissioning gives a reception wall or boardroom a work made for that exact space and identity. Leasing programs typically rent works for a set term, which some companies choose for short leases. Install day, without closing the office
Manhattan office buildings have rules for contractors: certificates of insurance, freight elevator bookings, set hours. I carry insurance and can provide a certificate naming the landlord or managing agent, and my team installs after hours so the office keeps working. I manage framing, delivery and installation within the agreed timeline and budget, so the art is on the walls when the team arrives, not months later.
A small company, not a corporate program
Most companies do not need a corporate art program. A small office often needs a few strong works for reception and the main meeting room, chosen with care, and a plan for the rest over time. The work is sized to the company, and the process is the same: a conversation, research, a short selection, the budget, the purchase, and installation.
