אתם מכירים את הרגע. הבית כמעט גמור, הקירות מוכנים, והלקוח פונה אליכם ושואל מה ייתלה עליהם. את השאלה הזאת אני לוקחת על עצמי. הלקוח, הקרדיט ושפת העיצוב נשארים שלכם; אני מביאה את האמנות, בלוח הזמנים שלכם ובתוך התקציב שכבר סיכמתם עם הלקוח.
מה אני מורידה מהשולחן שלכם
אמנות היא בדרך כלל הסעיף האחרון בתקציב והדבר הראשון שאורח רואה. אני מנהלת אותה כפרויקט בפני עצמו, במקביל לשלכם:
- מחקר ואיתור. גלריות בניו יורק ובתל אביב, אמנים שאני עובדת איתם ישירות, וגישה לעבודות שלעיתים קרובות הן בלעדיות.
- תקציב ומשא ומתן. אני מעריכה שווי שוק ומנהלת משא ומתן בשם הלקוח. ברוב המקרים הלקוח משלם על האמנות פחות דרכי מאשר במכירה פומבית גדולה או בגלריה, כי אין לי חלל תצוגה, מלאי או צוות גלריה, ואני מייצגת את הלקוח, לא רשימה של אמנים.
- הזמנות מיוחדות. כשהקיר צריך יצירה שעדיין לא קיימת, אני מתדרכת את האמן ומלווה את העבודה מהרעיון ועד המסירה. בווילה עם נוף לים בקיסריה זה היה טריפטיך באורך 3.5 מטרים מאת אמן איטלקי, ובמרכזו שלוש חסידות, כי בעל הבית הגיע לישראל כעולה חדש והחסידות חולפות בארץ בכל עונה.
- הפקה ומסגור. מדפיסי אמנות, ממסגרים ומתקינים, מותאמים לגימורים שלכם, בתוך לוח הזמנים והתקציב המאושר.
- התקנה. אני מנהלת את ההתקנה. העבודה לא מסתיימת עד שהיצירה על הקיר והלקוח מרוצה.
כך תקציב האמנות גלוי מההתחלה, ליצירות מוזמנות יש זמן להיווצר, והקירות מתוכננים ומוארים עבור היצירות שיישאו.
אמנות מתוך הסיפור של הלקוח
כשללקוח יש סיפור, האמנות מתחילה ממנו. ללקוח במנהטן שאהבתו לארח הנחתה את הבחירה, בחרתי קולאז' דיגיטלי בפורמט גדול כעוגן לבר שנבנה בהתאמה אישית, שנשען על השפה החזותית של מפגשים חברתיים זוהרים ומתכתב עם "בר בפולי-ברז'ר" של מאנה. הפרויקט הוא דירת קו הרקיע במנהטן.
הלקוח נשאר שלכם
התוכניות שלכם, הפלטה שלכם והכוונה שלכם מובילות; האמנות עונה להן. כך אני רואה את התפקיד: לגשר בין ידע עמוק בתולדות האמנות, עין חדה למה שקורה עכשיו והחזון היצירתי שלכם, ולהביא את שלושתם לדיאלוג אחד על הקיר. אני מציגה ללקוח יחד איתכם או דרככם, איך שנוח לכם, והפרויקט נזקף לזכות הסטודיו שלכם. יש לי יותר מ-15 שנה בעולם האמנות, כולל ניהול גלריה בתל אביב ועבודה אוצרותית במוזיאונים מבוססים, ותואר שני בתולדות האמנות.
איך זה נראה בפרויקט אמיתי
בקלוסטר, ניו ג'רזי, הבית היה בנייה חדשה והוזמנתי לאצור אוסף שייתן לאדריכלות עומק. בעבודה עם גלריות מובילות בניו יורק הצבתי עבודות של אמנים יהודים וישראלים לצד קולות עכשוויים אחרים. בית מעוצב היטב הפך לחלל עם נשמה, שבו האמנות והאדריכלות מדברות באותה שפה.
בהרצליה פיתוח, דירה עם נוף לים ביקשה יצירה אחת מכריעה ליד הכניסה. ציור גדול של יגאל עוזרי, חלון ישן ומחוספס, תלוי היום בדיאלוג עם החלונות הפונים לים, עם אלמנטים פיסוליים וטקסטורות אורגניות שנמשכות בשאר החדרים.
לצד בתים פרטיים, עבדתי שנים על קונספטים ואוספים של אמנות בשיתוף פעולה עם מובילים בתחום האירוח היוקרתי, ובהם וולדורף אסטוריה צ'נגדו, סנט רג'יס עמאן והולנד אמריקה ליין. הפרויקטים האלה מתנהלים לפי תוכניות, לוחות זמנים ותקציבים מאושרים. כך גם שלי.
עבודה משותפת לאורך זמן
אני מעדיפה לבנות יחסי עבודה ארוכים עם קומץ סטודיואים על פני פרויקטים חד פעמיים. אם תרצו הסדר הפניה, את המנגנון שלו נסכם יחד, בכתב, בתחילת הפרויקט הראשון ולפני שלקוח כלשהו מעורב, כך ששנינו יודעים בדיוק היכן אנחנו עומדים.
מה אתם מעבירים
סט תוכניות או כמה תמונות, המידות של הקירות החשובים, הפלטה ושורה על הלקוח. לא צריך שמות בהתחלה. אני עונה עם האופן שבו הייתי ניגשת לזה בתוך הקונספט שלכם.
איך מתחילים
שלחו לי את התוכניות, או אפילו תמונה של קיר אחד, ושורה על הלקוח. אספר לכם מה אני רואה ואיך הייתי עובדת בתוך הקונספט שלכם. הזמן הטוב ביותר לצרף אותי הוא כשהגימורים נבחרו ותוכנית הריהוט קיימת, לפני שהקירות נצבעו, כדי שליצירה מוזמנת יהיה זמן להיווצר. גם מאוחר יותר זה בסדר.

You know the moment. The house is nearly done, the walls are ready, and the client turns to you and asks what should go on them. I take that question. You keep the client, the credit and the design language; I bring the art, on your schedule and inside the budget you and the client have already agreed.
What I take off your plate
Art is usually the last line item and the first thing a guest sees. I run it as its own project, in parallel with yours:
- Research and sourcing. Galleries in New York and Tel Aviv, artists I work with directly, and access to works that are often exclusive.
- Budget and negotiation. I assess market value and negotiate on the client's behalf. In most cases the client pays less for the art through me than at a large auction or through a gallery, because I carry no venue, inventory or gallery staff, and I represent the client, not a roster of artists.
- Commissions. When the wall needs a piece that does not exist yet, I brief the artist and manage the work from concept to delivery. For a sea view villa in Caesarea that meant a 3.5 meter triptych by an Italian artist, three storks at its center, because the owner had come to Israel as a new immigrant and storks pass through the country every season.
- Production and framing. Printmakers, framers and installers, matched to your finishes, within the timeline and the approved budget.
- Installation. I manage the installation. The work is not done until the piece is on the wall and the client is happy.
That keeps the art budget visible from the start, gives commissions time to be made, and means the walls are sized and lit for the works they will carry.
Art from the client's story
Where the client has a story, the art starts there. For a Manhattan client whose love of entertaining guided the selection, I chose a large format digital collage to anchor the custom bar, drawing on the visual language of glamorous social gatherings and referencing Manet's A Bar at the Folies-Bergère. The project is the Manhattan skyline residence.
The client stays yours
Your drawings, your palette and your intent lead; the art answers them. The way I see the job is to bridge between a deep knowledge of art history, a sharp eye for what is current, and your creative vision, and bring the three into one dialogue on the wall. I present to the client with you or through you, whichever you prefer, and the project is credited to your studio. I have more than 15 years in the art world, including managing a gallery in Tel Aviv and curatorial work in established museums, and an M.A. in art history.
What it looks like on a real project
In Closter, New Jersey, the house was new construction and I was brought in to curate a collection that would give the architecture depth. Working with leading New York City galleries, I placed works by Jewish and Israeli artists alongside other contemporary voices. A well designed house became a space with soul, where art and architecture speak the same language.
In Herzliya Pituach, a sea view apartment asked for one decisive work near the entrance. A large scale painting by Yigal Ozeri, an aged and textured window, now hangs in dialogue with the sea facing windows, with sculptural elements and organic textures carried through the rest of the rooms.
Alongside private homes, I have spent years building art concepts and collections while collaborating with luxury hospitality leaders, among them the Waldorf Astoria Chengdu, the St. Regis Amman and Holland America Line. Those projects run on drawings, schedules and approved budgets. So do mine.
Working together over time
I would rather build a long working relationship with a handful of studios than take one off projects. If you want a referral arrangement, we agree its mechanics together, in writing, at the start of the first project and before any client is involved, so both of us know exactly where we stand.
What you hand over
A drawing set or a few photos, the dimensions of the walls that matter, the palette and a line about the client. No names are needed at the start. I reply with how I would approach it inside your scheme.
How to start
Send me the plans, or even a photo of one wall, and a line about the client. I will tell you what I see and how I would work inside your scheme. The best time to bring me in is when the finishes are chosen and the furniture plan exists, before the walls are painted, so a commissioned work has time to be made. Late is also fine.
