Yesterday we lost one of the most iconic and influential artists of our time, the British artist David Hockney.
Hockney created for more than six decades and kept working almost until his very last day.

Throughout his career he never stopped reinventing himself, exploring, and pushing the boundaries of the medium; from painting and drawing, through photography and printmaking, to digital work on the iPad.

He became famous for his singular visual language: intense color, dazzling California light, bold compositions, and above all his iconic series of pool paintings, which became an inseparable part of the canon of modern art.

But beyond the aesthetic identified with him, Hockney was an artist of observation. An artist who worked in situ and knew how to take everyday moments, a landscape, light, or human intimacy, and turn them into a deep and unforgettable visual experience.

His legacy is a reminder that great art does not merely document the world, it changes the way we see it.
