Herzliya Pituach, sea view apartment. The painted window near the entrance, the real ones beyond.הרצליה פיתוח, דירה עם נוף לים. החלון המצויר סמוך לכניסה, החלונות האמיתיים מעבר לו.
Near the entrance of this sea view apartment in Herzliya Pituach I placed a large scale painting by Yigal Ozeri of an aged, textured window, so that it speaks to the real windows facing the sea. Sculptural elements and organic textures carry that conversation through the rest of the home.סמוך לכניסה לדירה עם נוף לים בהרצליה פיתוח הצבתי ציור בקנה מידה גדול של יגאל עוזרי, חלון ישן ומחוספס, כך שהוא מדבר אל החלונות האמיתיים הפונים לים. אלמנטים פיסוליים ומרקמים אורגניים ממשיכים את השיחה הזאת בשאר הבית.
דירה על קו החוף של הרצליה פיתוח, עם סלון מעוגל ושורת חלונות שנפתחים ישר אל הים התיכון. רצפות אבן בהירה, ספות בצבע שמנת, שולחן נמוך וכריות סביבו. הים הוא הדבר החזק ביותר בכל חדר, ולכן האמנות לא יכלה להתחרות בו. היא הייתה צריכה לענות לו.
תשובה לנוף, לא יריב לו. יצירה סמוך לכניסה שתקבע את הטון עם ההגעה, עוד לפני שהים מופיע. ושפה חומרית שעוברת לאורך כל הדירה, כך שהחדרים ירגישו מחוברים דרך מרקם ולא דרך התאמת צבעים. בית ליד הים צריך משקל איפשהו, אחרת האור שוטף הכול.
ציור בקנה מידה גדול של יגאל עוזרי המתאר חלון ישן ומחוספס: צבע שחוק, זכוכית ישנה, זיכרון של קיר. מיקמתי אותו סמוך לכניסה, כך שהחלון הראשון שרואים בדירה מצויר, והבאים אחריו, כשנכנסים פנימה, אמיתיים ומלאים בים. זמן מצד אחד, אור מהצד השני, בדיאלוג שקט. לצידו ניצבים שני גזעי עץ סחף גבוהים על בסיסי פלדה, ואלמנטים פיסוליים ומרקמים אורגניים ממשיכים אל הסלון, שם צורה גבוהה בגוון ברונזה מתרוממת בין החלונות הפונים לים.
לקרוא את הדירה מתוך המאפיין החזק ביותר שלה ולבנות משם את הקונספט. לבחור את הציור של עוזרי ולקבוע את מיקומו המדויק סמוך לכניסה, ואז לבחור את הפריטים הפיסוליים והמרקמים לשאר החדרים כך שהכול ידבר באותה שפה. לוגיסטיקה והתקנה של קנבס בקנה מידה גדול ושל פיסול עומד, מקצה לקצה, וסיום רק כשהפריט האחרון עמד במקומו ובעלי הבית היו מרוצים.

An apartment on the Herzliya Pituach shoreline, with a curved living room and a run of windows that open straight onto the Mediterranean. Pale stone floors, cream sofas, a low table with cushions around it. The sea is the strongest thing in every room, so the art could not compete with it. It had to answer it.
An answer to the view rather than a rival to it. A work near the entrance that would set the tone on arrival, before the sea appears. And a material language running through the whole apartment, so that the rooms felt connected by texture rather than by matching colors. A home by the sea needs weight somewhere, otherwise the light washes everything out.
A large scale painting by Yigal Ozeri depicting an aged, textured window: worn paint, old glass, the memory of a wall. I positioned it near the entrance, so the first window you see in the apartment is painted, and the next ones, as you walk in, are real and full of sea. Time on one side, light on the other, in quiet dialogue. Beside it stand two tall pieces of driftwood on steel bases, and sculptural elements and organic textures continue into the living room, where a tall bronze toned form rises between the sea facing windows.
Reading the apartment from its strongest feature and building the concept from there. Selecting the Ozeri painting and deciding its exact position near the entrance, then choosing the sculptural pieces and textures for the other rooms so that everything spoke the same language. Logistics and installation of a large scale canvas and freestanding sculpture, handled end to end, and finished only when the last piece was standing and the owners were satisfied.
