The focal point of this Bauhaus residence in Tel Aviv is a hyper collage digital artwork printed on glossy anti reflective acrylic. The medium was chosen as carefully as the image: a dense, layered picture needs a surface that stays legible in a room full of light.נקודת המוקד של בית הבאוהאוס הזה בתל אביב היא עבודת היפר קולאז' דיגיטלית, מודפסת על אקריליק מבריק נגד השתקפות. החומר נבחר בקפידה לא פחות מהדימוי: תמונה צפופה ורבודה צריכה משטח שנשאר קריא בחדר מלא אור.
בית באוהאוס נותן לכם קירות נקיים והרבה אור. שניהם מתנה, ושניהם מציבים דרישות. הקיר רצה דימוי אחד חזק. האור אומר שמה שיהיה שם צריך להיראות בבירור מכל זווית, בכל שעה, בלי סנוור.
היפר קולאז' הוא עבודה דיגיטלית שנבנית מפרגמנטים רבים בשכבות, צפופה מספיק כדי לגמול על מבט שני ושלישי. בבית שבו הארכיטקטורה שקטה, הצפיפות הזאת היא העניין. לעין יש מקום אחד ללכת אליו, והיא ממשיכה למצוא בו עוד.
הדפסה על אקריליק נותנת לדימוי דיגיטלי עומק ורוויה שנייר לא יכול להשיג. הצבעים יושבים בתוך המשטח ולא עליו. לאקריליק מבריק יש חולשה אחת: בחדר מואר הוא משקף את החלונות. אקריליק נגד השתקפות שומר על העומק ועל הברק ומוותר על ההשתקפות, כך שהעבודה נקראת כדימוי אחד ברור בצהריים וגם מהצד השני של החדר.
ביצירה כזאת, ההדפסה וההרכבה הן חצי מהעבודה. אני מנהלת את ההפקה דרך מדפיסי אמנות, ממסגרים ומתקיני אמנות מומחים, בלוח זמנים מוגדר ובתקציב מאושר. הדפסה חלשה על האקריליק הנכון היא עדיין הדפסה חלשה, ולכן המדפיס חשוב לא פחות מהחומר.

A Bauhaus home gives you clean walls and a lot of light. Both are gifts, and both make demands. The wall wanted one strong image. The light meant that whatever went there had to be seen clearly from every angle, at every hour, without glare.
A hyper collage is a digital work built from many layered fragments, dense enough to reward a second and a third look. In a residence where the architecture is quiet, that density is the point. The eye has one place to go, and it keeps finding more when it gets there.
Printing on acrylic gives a digital image depth and saturation that paper cannot match. The colors sit inside the surface rather than on top of it. Glossy acrylic has one weakness: in a bright room it mirrors the windows. Anti reflective acrylic keeps the depth and the shine and loses the reflection, so the work reads as one clear image at midday and from across the room.
On a piece like this, the print and the mount are half the work. I manage production through expert printmakers, framers and art installers, within a defined timeline and an approved budget. A weak print on the right acrylic is still a weak print, so the printmaker matters as much as the material.
In a renovated Bauhaus home in Tel Aviv, the focal point was a work chosen for color and texture in a monochromatic space. Here it is a digital image chosen for depth and legibility. The architecture set the same question. The people gave different answers, which is how it should be.
