ככל שפונים מוקדם יותר, נשארות יותר אפשרויות, אבל אין רגע לא נכון, ואין צורך לחכות לקירות גמורים:

בכל שלב, כדאי לחשוב על התאורה לפני שתולים משהו. ספוט שנופל ליד היצירה קל יותר למנוע מאשר לתקן.
ארבע נקודות שבהן אפשר להביא יועצת אמנות לבית. אף אחת מהן אינה מאוחרת מדי.
איך זה נראה בבתים אמיתיים
בכל בית אני קודם כול סוקרת את החלל ואת קווי המבט, ומתוכם מגדירה את הקיר המרכזי. מבואה נקראת בתוך שניות, ולכן מה שתלוי בה צריך להחזיק כבר מהפתח. במבואה של וילה עם גינה בקיסריה הצבתי שני דיוקנאות גדולים של נשים, מצוירים במרקם עשיר ושכבתי, במסגרות עכשוויות דקות. מסגור דק משאיר את העין על הצבע, לא על השוליים.
בדירה עם נוף לים בהרצליה פיתוח, ציור גדול של יגאל עוזרי, חלון ישן ומחוספס, תלוי ליד הכניסה, בדיאלוג עם החלונות הפונים לים. בבית בקלוסטר, יצירות של אמנים יהודים וישראלים עומדות לצד קולות עכשוויים אחרים, שנמצאו בעבודה צמודה עם גלריות מובילות בעיר ניו יורק.
עבור מי עובדת יועצת אמנות לבית?

Art is not an accessory. It is a meeting point between a person and a space, and in a home the job is to find that meeting point for the people who live there. Below: what that takes, when to start, and three real homes.
What does a residential art consultant do for a home?
A residential art consultant takes the art of a home from the first idea to the work on the wall. I have spent more than 15 years in the art world: curatorial work in museums, managing a gallery in Tel Aviv earlier in my career, and working closely with emerging and established artists. For a home, the work has four parts:
Consulting: from a single artwork to a complete collection, pieces that fit the space, its style and the story of the people who live in it.
Sourcing and acquisition: I assess market value, negotiate on your behalf and manage every step with discretion.
Commissions: one of a kind works developed with artists for a specific space, from the first concept to the finished piece.
Production, framing and installation: with expert printmakers, framers and my own installation team, within the timeline and budget you approved.
Some call it residential art consulting, others residential art advisory. The general difference between the two job titles is in my guide to art advisor or art consultant. In a home I am both, and the seven steps of my process are the same either way.
What a residential art consultant does for a home, in four parts.
When is the right time to bring one in?
The earlier you call, the more choices you keep, but there is no wrong moment, and you do not need to wait for finished walls:
From the plans. I do not have to be on site to start: I can work from your designer's or architect's plans, so walls and lighting can be thought through for the art before they are built.
After the house is built and designed. In a new house in Closter, New Jersey, I came in after it was built and designed, and curated a collection to bring depth to the interior.
After a move. Empty walls in a new home are a good moment to start, before the gaps get filled in a hurry.
For one wall. A single work for the wall everyone sees is a complete project on its own.
Whatever the stage, think about the lighting before anything is hung. A spot that lands beside the work is easier to prevent than to fix.
Four points to bring in a residential art consultant. None of them is too late.
What it looks like in real homes
In every home I first survey the space and its sightlines, and define the main wall from them. A foyer is read in seconds, so whatever hangs there has to hold from the doorway. In the foyer of a garden villa in Caesarea, I placed two large scale portraits of women, painted with rich layered texture, in slim contemporary frames. Slim framing keeps the eye on the paint, not on the edges.
In a sea view apartment in Herzliya Pituach, a large scale painting by Yigal Ozeri of an aged, textured window sits near the entrance, in dialogue with the windows that face the sea. In the Closter house, works by Jewish and Israeli artists sit alongside other contemporary voices, found working closely with leading New York City galleries.
Whom does a residential art consultant work for?
A residential art consultant should work for you, and I do. A gallery's job is to represent its artists and get them the highest price possible; that is its essence. I represent the client. I have no closed roster and I am not obligated to any set of artists, so I can reach out to any artist in the world. I still source from galleries, and negotiate there on your behalf.
It also shows in the price. With a private art curator you can, in most cases, buy the art for less than at a large auction or through a gallery. At auction, many bidders fight for the same work, which pushes the price up. A gallery carries a venue, its inventory and its gallerists, and prices with margins to cover them. I have none of those costs, so in many cases buying through me is more affordable than almost anywhere else. Private, tailored consultation for your home, until the art is on the wall, is included. Working alongside your designer or architect
I work alongside architects and interior designers, not around them. My part is to bring art history, a sharp eye for what is being made now and your designer's vision into one conversation, so the art and the architecture speak the same language. At home the art answers to the people who live with it every day: their taste, their story and how they use each space. In an office it answers to the company, its clients and its team.
